MACAO FORUM - IFFAM - 4th International Film Festival and Awards ‧ Macao

Since its inception in 2016, the Macao Forum has been an event where industry delegates gather in closed sessions, and to furthermore deliberate key issues of the current film business in a concluding Forum Presentation that is open to all badge holders. Previous Topics including: “The SVOD Wars: How Will Our Films Benefit?”, “How Is the Growing Chinese Market Affecting the Rest of the Worlds’ Independent Business”, “The Crazy Rich Asians Effect” and more.

Three groups of 4 to 5 industry professionals – paired in different areas of specialty – spend 40 minutes discussing their assigned topics around a table that’s chaired by a table host. Each delegate is reassigned to a different group and table every 40 minutes while the hosts stay put. (Depending on the final allocations, some might only participate in less than 3 runs). The sessions occur behind closed doors, that allow the industry guests to speak freely and to sparkle candid, lively and “off the record” conversations.

Following the three closed sessions, all badge holders are welcomed to attend the Forum Presentation held by the table hosts and the moderator. The idea is to have a broad strokes presentation to the attending industry that shall summarize points of common concern and action points on each topic.
